It was super hot, but we spent some time at the park. The kids especially thought the blow-up waterslides were fun. The favorite booth is the goldfish ping pong toss. They ran out of fish riiiiight before the kids had a turn to throw balls so Austin was the only one who had a shot...and he won! Kid heaven. Sadly, Mr. Goldfish didn't live to see July 5th.

George and I were in charge of dinner that night, which included the Tripp's and the extended Cole fam. It was our first time cooking baby back ribs and they turned out great, I thought. We kinda miscommunicated on the amount of chicken and had A. TON. But it was good too. Bless George for being the grill master in that heat. Lots of people brought side dishes and we ended up with quite the spread! (no pic...boo!) It was still blazing hot, so the water balloon fights (which always escalate out of control) felt great. And we played a little backyard volleyball. Not sure why Erik was insistent about wearing fuzzy footy PJ's in this heat...
The Bleazard's came over for treats (you know...cuz we hadn't had enough food ;) ) and fireworks.
Whew, what a 4th! We love America!
