Back to the Beach!

Day 1 of the UT vacation return, we left all the housework/laundry and headed to the beach to join Lizzy, Amber, Jen and their kids.  It was a lot of fun catching up... just like old times.

Following day was Island Snow shave ice and Pizza Bob's for Cole and Havyn's birthdays...

Spring trip to UT

We had a great time visiting our families in Utah.  As usual, we packed in lots of stuff.  But unusual is that I half the usual number of photos.  Just randoms here and there.  I do have over 300 pics of houses though, so if you are interested, let me know.  :)

We started off our trip with the celebration of Pi day.  Could it begin any better?!?
The one thing our party lacked was some serious memorization of digits.  But hey, we took the red eye and tried to catch up on a bit of sleep instead.  The food was good though!

Easter Egg hunt with the Cole fam (a little before Easter :)

Favorite memories:

1.  Austin (who insisted on wearing his nerdy glasses) looked and looked for a money egg.  Chris hauled him around so he could look "up high" and Lacey shoved his face about two inches from the egg before he saw it.  He was thrilled!

2.  The $5 was the last to be found.  Gavin had already scored $35 so he was banned from finding more.  It was up to the girls.  They narrowed it down to the family room and we laughed and laughed as we saw them come SO close to finding it.  Lucy's hair even touched the egg without anyone noticing.

Afterwards we ate dinner and went bowling.

 We made a trip up to Logan for two BIG reasons:
1. See our newest nephew (why don't I have a picture of that cute baby???)
2.  Gradually brainwash our children they should be Aggie's

Happy Birthday to Lacey!

Geo went skiing at the Canyon's in Park City with Taisha, Chris, Lacey, Mark, and Andy.  I think its been over 10 years for him, so he basically rolled down the mountain the second half of the day.  And his black toenails will remind him of the trip for the next year.

Elise learned how to do a head stand at Grandpa Grant's and Grandma Marjie's - she was thrilled!  And so was grandpa!

Tractor Ride in Holden with Emily's Grandpa Mark
 My favorite parts of this little trip to Holden (besides the feel of clean teeth):
1.  Jim and Mindy's dutch oven... yum!
2.  While playing at Grandpa Mark's house, Jim let Austin hook a toy planting drill to the combine. Grandpa Mark was not happy about that and pulled out a tractor from his personal stash to correct the problem.

Geo was lucky enough to go to four of the NCAA games with his fam.  He loved watching Harvard upset New Mexico, was really bored watching Witchita State (maybe it was good defense?), and blew kisses to John Stockton on behalf of my mom.  :)

 We had a great time visiting with old friends at the Grantsville Old Folk's Sociable!  They highlighted different parts of the history of GHS (100 years old).  The halls were decorated with all things GHS and we laughed at old pictures of ourselves on various clubs and sports teams. Funny how all of the sudden, WE are the ones to be teased about the crazy hair, etc.  When did we become the "old people"???  We were also there for the big announcement of Tom being a co-chair for next year! Anyone want to volunteer to head a committee?

Easter Egg Hunt for Preschool

Aunty Nachelle was in charge of the Easter party for preschool and (as usual) did a wonderful job!  We did the bunny hop & chicken dance, read Easter stories, did egg relay games, and experimented with how much weight an egg could hold (we didn't have very many kids willing to stand on it to give it a try :).  So much fun!  Here are a few other fun activities...

We made our own "Easter bonnets" for the Easter parade.  Lots of creativity with this bunch!

Nachelle had this cute idea to eat lunch in an egg carton.  It had Nina pretty worried wondering whether we'd be eating any regular food :), but there was a lot of variety and it was really fun.

Note:  Couldn't find a decent pic of Elise without "see-food".  Sorry.

The party was held at our house because we thought it would be fun for the kids to look for the eggs outside.  And it was.

It became even more exciting when it started to POUR!

Austin and Kimo are great buddies!

 Cole immediately dumped his eggs out and stood under the rain spout and filled his bucket with water.  He stood there for quite a while, dumping the water out over and over.  He was pretty ticked when I dragged him back under the lanai.  So funny!
