Halloween 2011

Lucy's class had a Halloween dance for their school party.  Lucy watched Tangled to make sure she had some of Rapunzel's moves down just right and told me she did some "spins" for everyone when they did the dance solo circle.  The K-2 classes usually have a little Halloween costume parade at the end of school.  I took the toddlers over to watch the fun... but no 1st graders appeared.  We went down to the classroom and saw the dance party was going strong.  They didn't want to stop.  So Austin joined in the fun.  Elise stayed right by my side.

Its dark, but can you see the silhouettes of a cowboy and Rapunzel?  PARTY time!  They had a couple of those multi-colored spinning light things, a disco ball, a smoke machine, video stuff playing on the wall, and someone's dad as the personal Dj.  So funny!  Oh, and of course, lots of food. 

 Austin came home looking like this.  Plus he was all sweaty.

 So everyone got in their swimsuits to cool down.

Long after the girls were done, Austin was still going strong.  If you listen closely to the first video, you can hear him cheering the rocket on, "You can DO it!"  ha!  And of course, the shakes.  :)  In the second video, he realizes George is there, so he steps you through the whole launching process.  Notice the rolling of the r when he says "water"... not sure what is up with that but its a regular occurrence these days.  Maybe we should teach him how to speak spanish.  He's a natural r roller.

Then it was time to get ready for trick-or-treating.  Our costumes got lots of good use this year.  However, Austin preferred his without the shirt, shorts or bandanna.

Austin told this lady, "Now say 'you're welcome.'"

 After our a couple houses, Austin said, "Ok.  My bag is full."  :)  But he certainly wasn't unhappy to keep going.  We hit our tiny street and one more.  It was perfect.

Our last trick-or-treating stop was a drive to Lucy's classmate's house.  She handed out a flyer for everyone to come by.  They live on a tall hill so they made a "candy chute" (probably because there was no way climbing that hill was going to be worth it for a kid).  It was a 3" by 100' pipe down the hill.  Lucy called "trick-or-treat" up the pipe.  And the classmate's dad asked her a bunch of questions.  They'd call back and forth and Austin yelled up too.  (Elise was asleep in the van by the time we got there)  Four tubes full of goodies came FLYING down the chute.  Then came four hot dogs.  Then drinks.  I laughed so hard.
