We attended the Kailua Christmas Tree lighting on Dec. 7. It was held at Castle hospital. They started with a little time to remember the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, but mostly the program was listening to Christmas songs. "O Holy Night" was my favorite.
After the tree was lit up, they had a parade to welcome Santa. See the guy right in front of Austin... he played the conch shell. Is "played" the right word here? Hmmm... well, whatever. I thought it was the best part of the parade.
A big reason we wanted to attend is to watch Bruddah Sam's group, Vaihi, perform. Bruddah Sam (he's the one with the reindeer hat) and his wife, Lina, lead our Wednesday ukulele class at the church. They are such giving people.
Austin especially had a good time groovin' to the music...

It looks fun to me! You all look great, but Chris does look a little sleepy. No wonder.
